I imagine I'll get around to formatting my hard drive sometime soon. I've had my laptop for about 3 years and haven't had any problems so far so I haven't bothered.

Roughly daily. I'm always selling a part or adding a part or overclocking something, or I've designed something new that must be tested before it's sold...

I say I take good care of my computer. I have a laptop, so opening it to clean dust is a no-go. I format every year, when summer break begins. Since i got my external hard drive for Xmas I can format more often now since I don't have to worry about forgetting back up a file and loosing it forever. I have 2 anti-spyware programs (keyloggers scare the RED ENGINE GO out of me) and one anti-virus program. This year when I format I'll be sure to defrag after every step to hopefully cut down on fragmented, unmovable files.

I've cleaned it up once the 3 years I've had it, and the first and probably last time was yesterday. I'm in desperate need of a new computer, but have no money. Bad combination x.x

I've had my computer for 7 years (pentium 4 baby!) and it has never been upgraded minus an extra hard drive. It plays Guild Wars on max settings just fine as well as united offensive... even FarCry on high settings.

I have to buy a new one soon to play crysis. Gamespot couldnt even play it on max settings so my computer wont even get to the first loading screen

clean??? uhm, we supposed to do that???? (so never),

updates---that's a sticky point with me and my computers....now I have 2 that I use, my hubby has 2 he uses and we have a really old laptop that I use for a keyboard rest (still works, only had 2 gig hard drive, windows 95---ah the good ole days......)....
SO we USED to have 2 other computers we used for our email client--they were almost always on and then the first one, a dell, (dude I will never get another dell), well died...we replaced parts of it, and it died again, but it was also being used to download bit torrents (which is what I believe led to its ultimate demise)...it died horriblee. SO my old toshiba tank that I treked around japan with me got moved up in the line for the email server, it too had an untimely death (and now one of my friends has it in piece on his floor somewheres---)....so my last computer I got in japan is now our email server (it can also run gw, well sort of )....its all in japanese (and no I wont wipe the whole hard drive JUST to put a new horrible os on it, geesh)....it does a regular virus scan and such and we back up the email and stuff every month or so (well when we remember that it ).... so that leave us with 3 computer, 1 of mine and 2 of my hubby's---one is his old work laptop (dude its a dell---its a piece of *&^% so I dont know what he does with it, but it has loads of problems, go figure).
so that leave our 2 gaming rigs....my hubby likes to do updates when they come out.....soooooo when a new update came out right after labor day (USA) he forgot to back it up and welllllll it crashed so hard we had to search (in vain) for the windows disks (mine are sitting nicely under my monitor)..never found his so we used the ones from the japanese computer to get it back up and running....when POP!!!! the power supply crashed....
we have done other updates on it, and have been keeping the windows disks near at hand since most windows updates seem to just crash the computer instead of updating anything.....SOOOO I never update stuff on my computer (much to hubby's chagrin...) so when windows messed with his windows media player to the point of not being able to use it, I just laughed and told him I would never update mine! (he tries to get me to do updates, but I really dont want to have to reformat the computer.)

so yeah no updates, no cleaning...and if I had it my way windows 95!!! (yeah I am old)
